Maths Challenge

In February, Mrs Birch and a group of Year 6 pupils set up a Maths Challenge Day for some children in Years 2, 3 and 4 from our school, Potley Hill Primary School and Frogmore Junior School. The children had 8 problem solving tasks to work on and worked in mixed school groups with help from the older children.

Eco Chiefs visit Kallo Foods

Our Eco Chiefs recently visited Kallo Foods on the Meadows Business Park to further develop the ties between us. During the visit the children had a chance to get to grips with some of the products sold by the company, as well as ask questions and even pass judgement on some of the comany's latest packaging designs! Ann Chambers from Kallo Foods enjoyed the visit and said she is looking forward to meeting with the Eco Chiefs again soon.

Big Birdwatch Fortnight

The Eco-Chiefs joined many other schools nationally and got involved with the Big Birdwatch Fortnight in February which is a competition run by the RSPB to survey the different birds visiting their area. Our team saw many birds including Magpies, Robins, Blue Tits and Woodpigeons and sent our results to the RSPB. Eco-Chief Leader, Zack Lanes said " I really enjoyed the experience of bird watching which I found very relaxing and peaceful".

Christmas Countdown by FS and KS1

Last week the children in FS and KS1 entertained their parents and the rest of the school with their festive production, "Countdown to Christmas". Everyone involved worked hard in the time leading up to the performances learning lines, practicing dance routines and songs as well as making props and scenery. The end result was fabulous and enjoyed by all.
