Junior Road Safety Officers

The Problems with Parking

The Junior Road Safety Officers are still hard at work in their endeavours to educate us all in road safety and this term, have chosen to focus on the problems caused by thoughtless parking around school.

They have already had a meeting with the local PCSO to discuss ways to approach this issue and have decided that they would like to patrol the areas immediately outside school during peak times with a view to asking parents/carers who may have decided to park or stop in a dangerous position to park elsewhere. They will also be distributing leaflets from Hampshire County Council via the children and talking to their peers in assembly about the dangers of irresponsible parking.

I hope that you will support their work and help us to make the area outside our school a safer place for all our children. Thank you.

Be Bright Be Seen Day

The Junior Road Safety Officers invited all the children and staff to dress in bright clothes on October 19th to join in with the Hampshire wide Be Bright Be Seen Day. The purpose of the day is to raise awareness of the importance of wearing bright reflective clothing in the darker evenings and the JRSO's held an assembly to emphasise the message to the children.
