Eco Committee

Our Eco-Committee is made up of staff and children who are passionate about making our school and local community become more sustainable. The Eco Committee meets on a regular basis to discuss the issues that affect our environment and plan activities that aim to increase environmental awareness.

Every year we have a new group of children who are selected by their peers to represent them as their Eco Councillor, on the Eco Committee.

We are really proud of our Eco School Green Flag with merit status:

"Young people in your school are aware of environmental issues and committed to being active and creating positive change. This knowledge and attitude has provided your school with excellent foundations for the many successes that you’ve achieved this year...It’s clear your Eco-Committee are constantly considering what actions they can take to improve their local community and benefit our planet."

A brilliant new Eco Committee has been formed for 2023 - 2024, and they are already discussing plans for the coming year.

They have agreed to continue with battery recycling due to the success of the Big Battery Hunt last year when, as a school, we collectively recycled just over 1000 batteries! Well done everyone! That is amazing!

The Committee also want to let you know that it is ‘Recycle Week’ from 16th October to 22nd October. We would like to challenge you to look for ‘lost recyclables’ that you normally throw away but could be recycled. The following link may help…
