School Council

Children from Year 1 to Year 6 come together with pride to meet, talk and listen to make our school a better place. There are fifteen School Council representatives from Year One to Year Six. The School Council committee has a Chairperson, a Vice-Chair and a Secretary.

The children write a letter of application to be considered for the role and have to present to their class, explaining the reasons why they would like to be chosen.  The class votes and this information is shared with the school as a whole.

To be a school council member you need to be:

  • Sensible - be kind and helpful so that everyone feels happy

  • Display good teamwork skills

  • Listen and take turns to speak to share your opinions and ideas

  • Mature, you are a role-model for your peers

  • Ready - Miss Baker may want us to do different jobs at different times

  • Have good manners at all times

  • Confidence. You may have to speak with people who are from outside our school community, so show confidence in your role and your abilities.

What has our School Council done for charity?

School Council really enjoy supporting charities by planning, organising and celebrating lots of different events. We love helping children and adults around the world who are less fortunate than us.

We are always up for a challenge!
